Tweezers do not break or deteriorate, but over time they lose the ability to grab hair. When that happens, it's time to replace or sharpen it. If the tweezers aren't holding the hair properly, you may need to readjust and sharpen the tweezers.

Here are some of the best tips to use tweezers:

● Do not use tweezers to remove large areas of hair. It can cause ingrown hair and scars. Then consider applying a soothing cream after picking to reduce redness and irritation.

● The best time to tweeze is after a hot shower when your pores are opened up. It makes it even easier to get rid of those nasty hairs momentarily!

● Invest in a mirror with excellent magnification. This helps you see all the details of your face and helps you focus on the hair you want to pick.

● Always use tweezers on clean skin without any makeup. Better yet, give your face a good wash before you do to remove any excess oils. It will ensure you get the optimum grip on unwanted hairs.

● If you lightly apply ice between your eyebrows before picking, the area will be slightly paralyzed and you will not feel much pain. If necessary, you can apply ice for a short time between the eyebrows after plucking to relieve the pain caused by inflammation. Proper technique is extremely important.

● After each use, sterilize the tweezers with a small amount of rubbing alcohol and a clean cloth and dry well. This prevents bacterial transmission and keeps your skin clean and healthy.

● Do not press too hard to protect the tips of the tweezers. The tweezers may be deformed and the efficiency may decrease and do not drop it. If you drop them, the tip will be distorted and the tweezers will shift.

● When finished, wipe the tip clean with a disinfectant and dry the entire tweezers with a paper towel to prevent rust before storing them in a dry place or in a dust-free leather case.

● Tweezers can become dull and may no longer grab fine hair. Rub the grippy side of the tweezers with a nail file and it works wonders!

● Obviously, using a brand new pair of tweezers that are freshly sharpened will help reduce pain. This is because sharp tweezers can easily grab each hair so that there is no unnecessary slipping, and you won't have to try to tweeze the same hair twice.

Why Won’t My Tweezers Grab Hair?

There are a couple of reasons as to why your tweezer is not be able to properly grab the hair:

1- Stored Incorrectly That Caused Misalignment

If you don’t have a proper case for your tweezer than it’s most likely it’ll twist and turn and along the way will become mechanically defected which will affect the process of hair removal. To avoid worsening your other upcoming tweezers make sure to store them properly in the the case it came along.

2- Rusty

Tweezers don’t usually rust because the material is not low quality. Technically, all the metals rust even gold or platinum but the rate is very slow and the amount of rust is negligible. If you see your tweezer got a rust replace it with a new one immediately.

3- You’re Not Applying Enough Power

The power you’re applying is less than what actually is required. Or perhaps, you’re hesitant or afraid as you’ve never experienced the plucking of hair ever before. If this is the case, grab the hair slowly with your tweezer and immediately pluck it off with full force. You’ll rarely feel anything when you do the process fast.

4- Create An Angle

Perhaps, the angle at which you’re pulling the hair from is incorrect. We recommend instead of going straight on the hair with a 90° angle tilt a bit so you can grab the most volume of the hair with ease of your hands as well.

Wrapping It Up

Here you have it. These are the reasons as to why you won’t be able to grab your hair with tweezers.

Tweezers are not something that’s costly so it’s better you get a full set with multiple options to choose from as it’ll get you the most value and better options to pick.
